Happily Married and Dating

By Cindy_J_Stone

I used to resent my parent's nights out, and their weekends away from home alone. But now that I am married with children, now I get what it was all about.

At one stage I thought it was great, the best part of it was that we got to eat my favorite supper - takeaways- every time we chose something different, that we got to do when the baby sitter was there and we could have our way with the menu for the night. But then after a while I started to feel left out, even t…

The Teenage Years ; Poems by Dr Audrey Coatesworth

I write from my concern for children and teenagers - not from any criticism of any one in particular or parents in general. I know that there are many fantastic parents with responsible teenagers who work and play hard, care about others and make the choice to take neither drugs nor alcohol. I also know that there are parents who have tried their hardest and their children make choices that do not lead to health of happiness.

All make their own choices but my view is that no parents m…

Digging for gems at the Himalay Mine

The world famous Himalaya Tourmaline Mine is located in Mesa Grande on quiet, Gem Hill across the valley from Mt. Polomar in San Diego County, California. We visited the mine on our way back to Los Angeles (from Julian). It was fun. You can dig your owns gems !! The entrance fee is 75$ per day per family member older than 11 years. So in order to make it worth, it is better to plan ahead to spend the whole day in the area. Get well equipped with food (lunch), hats and water. Finding the Continue

When you understimate your kid... and get humiliated

I like computer games and spend some time on miniclip.com and other stuff. I refrained, however, from buying a Nintendo for a long time. My daughter of 7 years wanted the WII game and we ended buying it. The last time I played with a joystick was 18 years ago with an Atari. To some it short, I wanted it to supplement her Math studies with extra homework. So we made a bet: if I win a game, she will have to make 4 pages of grade 2 exercises (about quotient, numerator and denominator); if she wins… Continue

Happy to have you as part of the Hydrocephalus group. You might be able to give some insight into things that may be brought up by other members as the group grows. What is your specialty in, if I might ask?

I'm working on a second video for the blog, but there are more pics on the web album...hmmm...can't find where to put a hyperlink in her....

TREASURES OF NAPOLEON @ THE MUZEO

TREASURES OF NAPOLEON @ THE MUZEO - 241 S. Anaheim Bl., Anaheim.

In this exhibition, the drama and splendor of an extraordinary period of time “come alive” for visitors of all ages.

The goal of this unique exhibition is multi-fold. First, it allows visitors the opportunity to see beyond the “legend” of Napoléon Bonaparte to gain an understanding of this complex figure as a man. Second, it reveals how art and design played a key role in creating not only his Empire, but also his lasting place in history and in the public’s consciousness. Third, it provides a highly entertaining experience for the audience... allowing them to encounter the type of historic objects and art that can rarely be seen outside the halls of the great museums and palaces of Europe

Hours: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily.

Free with Museum Admission: $13.00 adults; $9.00 children. Exhibit runs through Jan. 8, 2010. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
